G1000 Nxi PFD issue

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I am experiencing a strange problem with Garmin 1000 Nxi on my Kodiak 100 plane made by SWS. I didn't try it with other aircrafts using G1000Nxi so I don't know whether it is specific for Kodiak or not. Here is the problem: the engine parameter gauges on PFD should normally be transferred to MFD once you initialize it. But every once in a while, the engine parameter gauges still remain on PFD, and when this happens, I can't switch CDI between different navigation modes, and I can't use transponder, I cannot set transponder to on or change transponder codes.

Has anyone experinced this problem? Is it a general bug or something in my community folder affecting the G1000 behavior? I cannot replicate it every time, it happens from time to time, and I have to end the flight and create new one from the MSFS menu.

I’ve had this happen in the SR22 once after the last update. Restarted the sim and everything was back to normal.

Excellent question, but given the huge number of potential add-ons that might be there and the much larger number of potential interactions between those add-ons, only you can answer that question. Why not just empty the Community folder except for the Kodiak and report back to us what you found?

Yes happens to me too (maybe 25% of the time?)  - I only fly the DA62.

In the past restarting the sim (exit to desktop and once again start MSFS) has always fixed it. But yesterday morning it happened to me again even after the second restart, and I didnt try a third time.

I had never experienced the issue prior to the December sim update.

IRL G1000 has standby battery that activated when battery or engine driven generator goes offline. Upon entering cockpit, as soon as you flick master switch PFD comes up alive first. MFD is usably activated by turning on avionic bus. If for some reason main power supply goes offline G1000 goes back to emergency mod with single PFD which draws power from stand by batters. So if you have hidden binding for alternator and it's in off position your normal battery will probably last 30-40 min before MFD goes offline. Also if circuit breakers are modeled make sure that MFD or alternator breaker are not popped

This happened to me on first flight after SU14 final was installed(was in beta). Also at same time don't know if it was related or not but tail number was cleared out too(forgot name of place where that's normally saved). After flight I exited FS and when back in and edited back the tail number(forgot to do it before leaving). But each time I went back into a flight I haven't had that come up again, only on first flight after SU14 final update. Hadn't ever seen that happen before. Flying on the C208B.
