Anti-ice and descent
Hi,I am interested in how RW pilots and the other simmers are coping with the situation when idle N1 rates are increased using anti-ice systems. What i do generally is, if icing situations are expected before the descent, i start my decend about 20 nm before i reach TOD point. And when i engage anti-ice, i catch my planned vertical profile later due to slow vertical speed because of high N1 rate.If icing conditions are unexpected, then there is no way but to use speedbrakes to keep the speed from increasing while maintaining the same vertical speed.Do you know how in RW descent planning is done when using anti-ice?Best regards,

sky texture problem with AS2012 (a small one)
synape replied to doruks's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumYes that's very interesting :))At least we have a workaround as you say. I am using REX cirrus clouds too, and I unchecked the cirrus clouds box in install options so that I can install weather influenced graphics without any problem.

sky texture problem with AS2012 (a small one)
synape replied to doruks's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumAfter installing the beta fix today, i made a flight and did'nt see those annoying grey rectangles. Too early to say it's absolutely gone though, since this problem did not occur in every flight. I will make a couple of flights more tomorrow and report it here. Anyway, i am very happy i didn't see it after the fix. Thank you very much AS team, you are great.

NGX and a Hardware Upgrade?
Also, if I want to upgrade to 2700k now, i'll have to change my motherboard too, since it needs 1155 socket.I don't know what type of socket ivy bridge will use but i don't want to change my motherboard once again when they are released. So maybe waiting for the ivybridge, and upgrading both CPU and motherboard when it comes out is a better way to go.

NGX and a Hardware Upgrade?
I want to ask for your recommendations about CPU upgrade.Currently i have i5 760 OC'ed at 4 Ghz and I get 30 FPS constantly but in lowered scenery settings. I want to upgrade it just to max the settings in FSX.I am thinking to upgrade to i7 2700K. But there's ivy bridge coming in the first half of 2012. What do you think, should i wait for the upcoming ivy bridge or upgrade to i7 2700K right away? Any recommendations?

Enhance your NGX Touchdown sound effect! - Download
The original PMDG touchdown sound effect is a dynamic sound whose amplitude changes according to how hard you land. Will this be the same with this sound file change?

PUSH back distance
Before SP1 i was changing pushback distance to read as meters for once, and on the next flights it would always show as meters. But after SP1 it always shows as feet. Is there anyway to change it permanently so that it always reads out as meters?

How many have zero problems?
I have a problem. The plane is so beautiful I spent all my weekend flying, 9 legs in total. Even the RW pilots fly less. This is a serious problem...Yeah i love my pmdg ngx sooo much, no problems at all but a plane like a dream.

Message for PMDG Team.

In external view airplane is not visible after installing hotfix
Do you have EZDok camera? If you have, then go to the configuration tool and push "configure FSX" button. It will add its lines to the cfg file of the airplane that is created new with the hotfix.

Electric hydraulic pump A and B overheat
Today I had my first failure in 737NGX. I was parked at gate and just before the pushback I turned on electric hydraulic pumps A and B. The low pressure light didn't go away and also both overheat lights on A and B showed up. Hydraulic pressure was 20 psi instead of the normal 3000 psi. I turned off the pumps and waited for some time in case the temperature may drop and lights can go away but no joy. Meantime I examined the qrh (section 13.2) but i couldn't find info about when both lights are lit.So I cancelled the flight. Afterwards I restarted my flight from cold and dark cockpit (not from a saved file this time) and voila, hydraulics are working again as good as new.Any ideas? And by the way, thank you again PMDG, this is the first time i am cancelling a flight in my FS history because of some failure, and this is what i call realism :))

ezdok and the NGX

No visible chocks
which aircraft does show up on default flight, on main screen in free flight mode? I suggest saving a default flight with one of the default airplanes. I had the same problem before, also there were SATCOM antenna although i did not choose it via FMC. I had my default saved flight with PMGD NGX. Saving a default flight with cessna solved the problem for me.
