Do you guys think it's worth upgrading from a 3080 to a 4070 S for FG and small bump in VRAM? I fly in 1440p.

I did!  Purchased a RTX 4070 Super directly from Nvidia for $599 then sold my 3080 on Ebay for  $450.  I gained a modest increase in performance going from 10G to 12G but the 4070S runs much cooler and uses less power.

I just received the new card yesterday evening so haven't had the chance yet to try FG but I've just been using DX11 TAA with the frame rate locked at 48 (2560X1440 -144 monitor) and MSFS always runs smooth for me.

Well at 4K with my old 3080ti I would regularly hit the 12 gig VRAM limit but with my 4090 I reguarly see 19 gig being used - well short of the max 24 gig. Before I upgraded I saw other posters with 4090s claiming the same so I decided 16 gig would not be enough.  I think 20 gig would have been fine but when it became clear we were not going to get a 4080ti (or super or whatever) with 20 gig I took a deep breath and got the 4090. So far no regrets even paired with my old 9900KF (to be upgraded post MSFS2024).
