January 9, 20242 yr We're leaving Provo for Telluride Colorado... its a real murky day here (again!) with a lovely recipe of snow and rain (thar be icing!). I'm sporting a fantastic paint job by Tim-HH, flying the incredible Black Square TBM 850, and leaving Verticalsim's KPVU and arriving default KTEX (Gaya I think?). Of course we're always equipped with the TDS GTNxi when possible... Ready for start Untitled-1 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Really poor vis here...one can just make out the VOR.... Untitled-2 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Passing Utah Valley University's ramp Untitled-3 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr No airliners at the gate...probably no one making it in. Untitled-4 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr From the moment we leave the ground we're basically in the soup...anti icing on! I love the TBM because everything the pilot needs is accessible in front of his/her face. Untitled-5 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Popping out of the tops Untitled-6 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Continuing the climb to FL310 Untitled-7 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr I just love this view Untitled-8 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr And finally free of the snow and ice Untitled-9 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr At this altitude we're just a tiny bit closer to the moon Untitled-10 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Approaching the TOD at KTEX Untitled-11 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr And we'll shoot the RNAV Z RWY 9 - it's got much lower mins Untitled-12 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Guess we can't escape the murk Untitled-13 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Snow showers/virga Untitled-14 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr A lovely painted landscape Untitled-15 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr We got lucky as we just broke out above mins (amazing how that always happens!) Untitled-16 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-17 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr All configured and the TBM can go quite slow on final if needed...
