January 20, 20242 yr Today, I installed another (optional and overdue) update for U.S., which highlighted the Oregon region, and specifically Eugene (OR), so, I wished to test this scenery in my Xbox system. I'm a bit familiar (via virtual explorations) with the U.S. west coast but mostly north of Portland (OR) up to Seattle (WA) and beyond, while Eugene is located about 100 miles directly south of Portland. So, here, I have lifted off Eugene's (KEUG) airport in southeasterly direction, first, towards the Willamette River and Willamette Valley, and then headed northward over and across the magnificent Cascade Range of Mountains, and finally flown south on the plains of Oregon, back to Eugene to land on (KEUG) Runway 16R. Please note, below, my choice of livery for the Cessna C208B Grand Caravan, a multi-colored Azul Blue. Now, though I often fly the livery that I happen to like (or recall from past SIMs) irrespective of my region of flight...🙂..., here, my choice of livery was dictated by the fact that I initially wanted to fly, for my 2nd time in (MSFS) S.A., in Brazil ...been encouraged by my recent travel between Santiago and Cordoba (please see my earlier post). There, I'd visited the tallest peak of the Andes Range, the Aconcagua, that appeared quite sharp and well-textured. On the other hand, Brazil was (strangely) a complete disaster in the SIM for me today, and I cannot figure out why...suspecting first (maybe) some auto-adjusted setting on my Xbox system...Brazil's 10,000 ft mountains looked like mole hills of FSX, with no structural features at all...Disappointed, I came back closer to home to test the Oregon region, instead, subject of this post, and I'm pleased that this scenery looks (expectedly) beautiful and did prove absolutely worthwhile... So, hope, you enjoy this collection of 20 images from my excursion today, on the west coast of U.S., in the state of Oregon...a state, which is sometimes over-shadowed, in terms of natural beauty, by its northern neighbor, the state of Washington, but it's equally endowed with remarkable beauty, if not more, with its Cascade Range alone, containing more peaks over 9,000 ft than in nearby Washington... Thanks for viewing...!
January 21, 20242 yr Good trip. You do some interesting things with glare in many of your shots...could become your trademark. 🙂

January 21, 20242 yr Wonderful images P_7878 !! Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds My specs: AMD Radeon RX6700XT, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB RAM, 34" monitor, screen resolution: 2560x1080
January 21, 20242 yr Another great set, P, and always good to hear/see more about the Xbox environment. Am I right in thinking it's a "set it and forget it" environment? Put MSFS on there, run it via an Xbox controller and that's pretty much it? Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used
January 21, 20242 yr Author Folks: Many thanks for the nice feedback and comments...! 15 hours ago, Alaska738 said: Very nice shots! 😉 Thanks, Will...! And, yes, it will be first the (PMDG) 777 from you...then...Oh well...it's after all still a Boeing...🙂.... 15 hours ago, John F said: Good trip. And, regarding the MSFS glare, every time I open Xbox, when it goes through the screen teasers, there are always such "glare" illustrating images from MSFS on my HDR TV...it looks good...and easy to copy...🙂... 9 hours ago, pmplayer said: Beautiful set, nice livery Paint by the way.. cheers 😉 Appreciated the comment, pmplayer. Yes, I always liked the Azul Blue...and this one came from a livery-pack I'd got from Marketplace for the C208...which a/c I'd almost forgot to fly...🙂... 6 hours ago, bernd1151 said: Wonderful images P_7878 !! Yes, Andy, you know Xbox is a "Closed" system...So, I'm pretty much dependent on the grace of MSFS/Asobo...🙂...One advantage there is that none of the endless tweaking that always ruined my experience in FSX/SE ...one parameter set for Orbx, one with PMDG a/c, one with CS a/c...and so one...here everything seems to be well-optimized from factory, to start with, for Xbox/MSFS. I only adjust my Assistance and Control Options...so far...This Brazil thing, I am suspecting, has nothing to do with Xbox, but the (current) photo-scenery is simply not up-to-the-standard...maybe an incremental (S.A) Update will make it better ...Cheers...! January 21, 20242 yr Agree with you about Brazil photoscenery. Disappointed so far (I've got lots of Brazilian liveries waiting with no place to go 🙂) but Manaus in the Amazon region is okay. For better SA results, try Concepcion or Santiago in Chile, Mar del Plata in Argentina, Punta del Este in Uruguay. Off topic, but Palma de Mallorca, Spain is excellent...the entire island. And I'm pretty much rapturous about Cordoba, Spain (has photogrametry) and the surrounding areas of olive groves. (Been there in real life and loved it.) Edited January 21, 20242 yr by John F

Thanks, John, first for confirming my Brazil observations of the photo scenery and also for the alternate suggestions, corroborated by RW experience....I'll try them ... It appears the Andes region, to the western side of S.A. is still worth flying and exploring in MSFS...we'll see ... Edited January 21, 20242 yr by P_7878
