January 22, 20242 yr That is true, sure. I wonder if for MSFS reinstallation, is it needed to also re-install all addons coming with a separate installer? Or does it work out of the box due to the community folder approach? I guess the only addons that really need re-installation are those writing something into the exe.xml, correct? Some addons create folders in your userprofile (C:\....LocalState\ or something) , to keep track of savestates etc. I don't know whether these folders are created when you start the aircraft in MSFS or need to be created during installation. Others might indeed add something to the exe.xml but these are rare. Here is a short video around Manhattan in VR and in 2D. Using mostly high or very high settings. Thank you all for your suggestions. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1v7q4Un-osA0tXu5CcY8ev9FIkTXgaN6o/view?usp=sharing Still, switch to DX12 and activate DLSS and Frame Generation. See how it goes then. Chock 1.1: "The only thing that whines louder than a jet engine is a flight simmer."

Would be extremely interesting, because it might be possible to revert to the earlier performance without reinstalling everything... Glad I did not suffer from reduced performance after SU14. On the other hand, with a good internet connection and the community folder approach I guess the reinstallation was a more or less hassle free experience, right? Indeed. I wasted a lot more time troubleshooting than it took to reinstall MSFS. However, I still have to reinstall many utilities and addons and I will need to be very careful and do it in small steps to isolate what if any addon had caused the problem.
