Wait till the EVs get going.

It's about time. 

The govt. can use whatever excuse they want to crack down on this, in this case "climate", but it is not right that a small group of people trying to get rich off cryptocurrency can consume such a large amount of precious energy resources with no penalty.

I think that an easy solution to this is to have consumption-based rates.  Once someone exceeds a certain number of KWH/month, the rate doubles, and then if another threshold is reached, it triples.

I'm a big proponent of conservation as opposed to wholesale revamping of our energy systems by 2035 like some suggest, so making people pay more for consuming more makes sense to me.
