Weird events that have affected overall performance

I just want to share this with my forum friends.  I'm not even sure if it actually is as significant as I will relate here. Above all, I'm very HAPPY with what happened.

First, I'm running Windows 11 on a Jetline computer, and second, I fly P3dv5.4 (also fly MSFS) every day.  I'm computer literate and usually am able to solve any problems on my own. I have used Jetline very infrequently to help with issues that I couldn't solve.

About 2 weeks ago, I noticed that Windows 11 took about 45 seconds longer to boot up than usual.  After it did boot, I noticed that my TASKBAR didn't appear for at least another 30 seconds.  I researched everywhere about this and the only suggestion I received was to right click on Windows Explorer in Task Manager and reboot it.  I did that several times and it had absolutely NO EFFECT on my boot time or taskbar appearance speed.  I also noticed that about 90% through my flights, I'd get a sudden case of terrain "blurries".  Changing the time by any amount while flying usually restored clarity to the sim.

This morning, the boot up time was the same....slow, and no taskbar for an additional 30 seconds.  HOWEVER, I was going to restart the computer before flying as I usually do after a morning of emails and web surfing, and I got a notice for a Windows UPDATE.  I choose to do the UPDATE and choose to shut down the computer after the update.  When I restarted the computer, the boot time was back to normal and very fast.  My TASKBAR appeared IMMEDIATELY!  Of course, the only thing I changed was electing to do a Windows 11 update.

The Update was - KB5034467.  There was also a Security update for Windows installed too - KB5034765.

Additionally, I updated my Nvidia Driver last night to the very new - 551.52.

I just completed a flight from LGAV (Athens) to LIRF (Rome) in a 747 and yes, the flight was super smooth and no terrain "blurries" occurred.  Very enjoyable, indeed.

Again, I'm just sharing something that seems significant on my system.  It may or may not be anything, but I'm using the forum to share my feelings and concerns, as intended. Take it for what it's worth.

How are those drivers working for you?

I've only flown P3d v5.4 twice with them and MSFS once with them.  So far, so good and not a single problem.

I use Win 10 and an update today completely screwed up all the usb functions in my cockpit. Made some 200 switch and button functions stop working.  I was searching the MS website for any clues when I saw something regarding this weeks Win 11 update including a fix for the previous update which seemed to have caused some issues for Win 11 users. Maybe that was what you experienced. Meantime I had to resort to system recovery to get my cockpit working again. I dread every Windows update.

Yes.  I used to dread them as well.  However, obviously there was an issue with Win 11 that indeed was fixed.  Thank you for finding that.  It wasn't in my imagination, as I feared it might be.  It was a proper update.

The exact same thing happened to me on Win 10.  Insanely long boot times as well as creating sutters in the sim.  I really don't like how MS does these things.

Well, it does not happen to everybody.

It's actually quite amazing that Updates work with all the thousands of computer hardware variations out there.

I have no issues or slowdowns with my Windows 11 laptop, & no stutters with my P3Dv4.5, & my updates are up to date.
