Feb22 Compulsory Turbulence is Back

Recommended Posts

Is it just me? Since the small update yesterday I'm getting a lot of turbulence with the "Low" setting which used to be virtually zero. In any GA aircraft I'm not only getting quite extreme turbulence but I get it when weather is set to zero clouds and wind, at any time of day, over a completely flat scenery, and also some very wild yawing on the ground as though there were extreme gusts.

Before I start ranting 🙂 I want to check whether this is somehow just my end, or do others experience the same thing?

Mine is set on "realistic"  and barely have any! I'm using live weather and occasionally there are some patches of CAT in some places but they are very rare. To me they dialed it too much back LOL

Thanks. Well it could be a one-off,  because after closing the sim down then re-starting it's now back to normal. So maybe it's my end. If no-one else reports it over the next 24hours I'll delete the post.

I was over Guyana last night with the Comanche.  It was bouncing around a lot considering I keep turbulence on low for the Fenix and others that don't play well with higher settings.  I'll have to see of that applies to other add-ons.  My experience is similar to yours Robert.

Well maybe it is not just me imagining it. I seem to get it in certain areas but not others.

Yes ! exactly the same - "Turbulence" up to 5000 - but it could be my rudder - "flickering" - control panel setup

shows it not returning to Centre every time on port side

Why would you get any? It's winter!

I too was flying the Comanche last night (EGKA > EGNC) and 100% said to myself "where is all this turbulance coming from?!".   I was using my own weather setting that has 3 kts at low altitude and 8 kts at high.... and no gusting!

So I don't think you did imagine it @robert young .  But I've not yet flown today so hopefully I'll see like you, that it's resolved itself.     Perhaps it was some dubious weather data.

Thanks for confirming I wasn't going bonkers. It happened again today, for one flight. I then tried another flight and it was gone. Very strange.

With the intermittance that we're seeing, I reckon it could be a data based issue, with the weather. Were you flying in the UK on the flights in question, Rob?
