I also don't use any LOD or FPS mods.

What do you use instead. Default values?

Hardware: i7-8700k, GTX 1070-ti, 32GB ram, NVMe/SSD drives with lots of free space.
Software: latest Windows 10 Pro, P3Dv4.5+, FSX Steam, and lots of addons (100+ mostly Orbx stuff).

I mean I don't use the AutoFPS or AutoLOD mods. I use TLOD 150 and OLODS 100.

What do you use to monitor and balance the CPU and GPU load?

I just use MSI Afterburner to monitor. I use 1440p resolution, not 4k, don't have any issues with CPU or GPU load.

What about CPU and GPU temperatures? Are they not getting too hot?

No, because I lock the FPS at 60 with RTSS. It lowers the GPU power consumption too.

Thanks, I will give it a try by locking my fps in NCP and disabling V-Sync then and see what happens.

I recommend you lock them with RTSS using Front Edge Sync as Noel explained in other thread, it's better than in NVCP.

I had the impression that RTSS couldn't be used with NVidia. (I am just trying to avoid reading another 100+ page manual 🙂 )

I use in sim with DX11 and in NVCP with DX12 + FG

How is that you can set DX12 at the NVCP  ?

I don't think he meant that (you can't).

My sweetspot is 2560x1440(native)/60Hz/60FPS limit in NVCP/vSync on NVCP/vSync Off in-sim/DX12/TAA/FG and 100 render scaling. Other changes worth mentioning is background app frame limit to 20 and optimal power in NVCP global profile. In the MSFS NVCP settings I have image scaling off, AF 16x (off in-sim), prefer maximum performance (have experienced GPU not going to my OC speed with optimal, but with prefer max it stays at 2050Mhz during flying) and texture filtering high quality. Almost zero artifacts using the FG-mod, and far away from ruining any of my flights (days in between).

I use VSYNC in NVCP when I use DX12 because VSYNC in game don't work with FG.
