Reinstall P3D - v5.3 or v5.4

@jcomm, i understand your reasons. 👍

Yes, the sequence you listed is good. Regarding ORBX FTX Global no need to touch that if you chose not to replace default texture files. If you did then it’s a bit trickier. May be best to check ORBX forum for guidance.

Other 3rd party stuff should be fine. You may have to confirm your ASP3D licence.

Thx Ray.

Since I have just installed it I might try a full install of 5.3 HF2 instead and then reinstall of the Orbx content..

You’ll soon know if the ground looks okay or not. On my previous PC I made the mistake of allowing ORBX to overwrite the default textures and removing them was hard work. There was much discussion about FTX Global many years ago and the mandatory replacement of default files.

Since then they’ve sensibly given the user the choice to install externally.

I'm taking the opposite route but I'm still going to have P3D 5.4 installed. I hope I don't regret it...

It all depends on what, at the end of the day, you require from a flight simulator... In my case there's no choice for me other than Condorsoaring for soaring simulation, P3D v5 for Airbus 319/20/21 simulation, XP12 for some Airbus feel in the Toliss, rotaries and some really great props too thanks to it's flight and overall physics modelling...

MSFS 2020 is for sight seeing ( I really appreciate watching my house when flying a chopper in MSFS 2020, although I have to totally forget about the "flying a chopper" part because, choppers in MSFS are a bad taste joke 😕 and I have finally learned the lesson the hard way after spending a useless amount of money in 4 chopper addons for MSFS 2020 and during a couple hours trying to trick my brain about 2 of them being acceptably good... ) - that's it... I wonder if someone some day comes up with a bridge app allowing to use XP12 or even P3D with MSFS visuals ! That would keep MSFS 2020 in my disk for longer periods 🤣

Now, how can I revert to that version from a 5.4 install? Can I simply download the 5.3 HF2 Client and run it ?

While FSL updated their buses for 5.4, what I did was install 5.4, uninstall just the Client and install the 5.3 HF2 Client. How did you finally do?

Decided to stay with 5.4 🙂

I don't use AIG, so... and have the graphgics settings on medium / low, so no big deal with CPU / GPU ...
