How to get rid of all the Prepar3d signs at airports...

Recommended Posts

I am finding these Prepar3d signs randomly at airports, this one being KEGE.  How in the world do I get rid of them?

Thanks in advance!

Is the airport default? Or modified in some way?

Default KEGE and not modded.

Loaded up a flight with KEGE and can confirm the default KEGE does have these signs.  They can be deleted use ADE.  I have seen this sign before, but not on or near runways.

Specs: black box thingy with spinning fans, lights and a bunch of wires that go to screens with pretty colours and a keyboard with many keys. The black box thingy also has a push button activated coffee cup holder.

a quick suggestion without looking into it deeply.

Get MCX and open the object library bgl files in the world scenery folder and find the sign. Once you have located where the sign lives delete it from the bgl and save the file

it will no longer be available object in p3d as a scenery object until you do a update or repair

then you just repeat process again if it appears after a update or repair

You posted this as I literally figured it out!  Have had MCX for quite a while never thinking I was going to ever use it.  The offending P3d sign is in the "hazards.bgl" file.  Opened it, removed the object and recompiled the .bgl!  Worked like a charm and no more Prepar3d signs.

Thanks!

Glad I saved a copy of the stock scenery. I did not find any hazards.bgl in the KEGE (alas APX19170.bgl)

Using ADE I opened APX19170.bgl and looked for a hazards bgl and did not find any,

Would like someone to explain more in depth please.

Thanks

Write click mouse Delete and save.

If your sim is set to dense in the scenery settings they will not show.

ORBX KEGE P3Dv6.

Okay, I removed all the hazards.bgls and recompiled the KEGE scenery. I also made a KEGE addon folder and added this scenery to my P3D 5.4 -

The crazy signs are still there. Rather then mod the stock airport, I created backup of this file and used ADE on it; deleted all the hazards.bgls I could

find. Don't know what I did  wrong.
