Why add a superflous routine.

I assume you have no idea of the purpose of zink?? It has its own discussion topic on other forum started by SID to explain it all.

Zink simply replaces the OGL driver interface, ti Zink for plugins and only plugins that use OGL to draw. Created dypue to the pathetic AMD drives which have caused issues for ever. Hence AMD gpu users see huge benefits, nvidia users won't see any. But Laminar are planning long term to use it as a standard interface for both. Leaving it on won't hurt, but if it does, submit bug report before they make it non optional.

Not true but it's more hit and miss. Zink is supposed to be faster than both AMD and Nvidia drivers.

Yet to see any nvidia user see improvements.

Opposite for us, the demand for Zink for Team green tends to be quite high (Some cases +10FPS).
It's also not something we're going to force upon users if you don't see much gain. But it's not there exclusively for AMD, just helps them out more.

I see a one or two frame improvement with ZInk on my nVidia 3060, 555.99 drivers. It isn't much but I can hope for more later based on that.

It's not meant to be a FPS booster like FG or DLSS/FSR

I know it. I'm just happy it went from constant CTDs with Zink enabled to +1FPS and no crashes. It speaks overall stability.
