The MD-11 has a WX switch near the range selector on the MCP. On my phone so this is the best i can help right now.

This is on ON, if you press this button all goes competly to off, Weather and Terrain Radar so this has to be on and now you only have the choice to set the Weather Radar to on on that Mode panel ( near the pedastal ) using the WXR Button.

If you doeing that on the Ground already the WXR flashes on the PFD and on discord they say this is OK like this and should work..

So now on my flight i have real life weather and it is normal cloudy so this shows nothing because there is no rain in this clouds but i tested before the same with rainy sky/clouds but nothing shows on the PFD what looks like weather radar clouds so i am not realy shure whats goeing on maybe needs more testing on other weather situations.. ??

Sorry it didn't work out. Keep in mind the WXR reflects water and not clouds. If there is no water, there's no reflections.

Mine works just fine when there is water in the clouds.
