Hi guys,

I've been away from simming for a while but getting back into it now i have more time.

I've been watching some youtube stuff and installed the frame gen mod as i have a rtx 3090 card and an amd ryzen 9 5950x cpu with 32 gig of ram. (running latest drivers for nvidia)

Now I installed everything as per instructions and ran msfs, everything ran great and was getting an excellent fps .

my issue is this on subsequent attempts to run msfs I can get to the main page and select my airport and aircraft (either payware or the types that come with msfs) but when I then select fly now when the next screen comes up the  blue bar gets to about 40% and then msfs just hangs. and task manager shows flight simulator not responding and my only option is to end the program.

my only options then is to remove the frame gen files restart the pc and start again, from scratch.

has anyone come across this and know of a fix as i really like the mod but the hassle is a real pain

There is an alternative to the frame gen mod called Lossless Scaling. The taskbar icon is a duck (another big advantage). But maybe it is what you already have?

This happens to me recently but I only start Lossless frame gen afterward, It's most likely somewhere in a messed up add-on.

i was running frame generation with a 1 month old 4080 super installed and getting over 100 fps. yesterday nothing changed by me  frame generation still showing in msfs options but frames back down to 55 or 60.  you guys think my brand new 4080 super is bad?

Have you checked your C:\XboxGames\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Content directory?

Just in case, try to reinstall the "universal" version of the FG mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/738?tab=files

Here all it's working very well with my 3080 and the FG mod.

claudius as i understand it with the 4080super you dont need a mod.  frame generation shows as a option in my msfs option setting in the sim and is checked as on and had been working ok. what would i be lookin for in the content directory

I was replying to mazelda1 about his 3090, I don't have any idea what happens with the 4080 super, unfortunately.

Hi Claudius what driver are you using with this fg mod?

I'm using always the most recent Nvidia driver, no problem with the last one 556.12
