AIG traffic SETTINGS for major model update 2023

it is set to load as fast as possible - using as much CPU as it can get. If you change regular Scenery files this can slow down the process since TC reads different files on each startup to see if there are any scenery changes (this is something we will change soon) - my TC loads up in around 3-4 miunutes and is up even before MSFS is laoded.

Same - I would say TC loads in less than 5 mins. I rarely changes my scenery addons though, and always load TC at the same time as the sim.

Thats not fully true. We have added quite a lot of GA airplanes already, focus over the last months was adding Business Aviation stuff, and with Eric we have a dedicated Team Member for those flightplans. For the smaller private GA traffic we are currently working on adding more and more, so far we have some areas in the UK and in the US as well as many smaller regional operators like flight-schools - more will follow in the next months

I noticed that, and it is great that you are adding GA and Business. It seems to me a tremendous amount of work to add believable GA traffic worldwide so I appreciate what you are doing.

For FSX there was a GA-Traffic generator that could create traffic bgl's based on parameters like percentages night time vfr, airport sizes, amount of cross country vs touch and go's etc, and it could do that for sets of liveries or aircraft type.

yeah, we will not use any "random" generator to "just get traffic". With the new DynFP format we added a few months back, we aim to get as real as possible. Since private GA is not that easy to predict and it is far from scheduled, we make it Real but dynamic. We collect data for the AC-Type and the Registration. We then determin the "homebase" of the airport and add a few information to it of potential flights this airplane has done in real life or what we belive it might do in the future. Based on those information AIGTC will generate a flightplan on each startup - so you will never see the same flightplan for any DynFP airplane twice when you restart AIGTC 🙂

All of this takes time, but we are slowly getting there - we got the full AC-Register for the US, UK and Swiss so far, now we just need to extract the data xD

thanks for the reply, I understand it...you know, it is now when I have time to simfly and I will have to spend 5-6 hours downloading the 40-50 GB. It would be so nice to have it much faster. Specially, because I already downloaded it in the past but there are apparently some corrupted files AIG manager does not like....

a "verify setup" in AIM can often fix those. I always suggest to make a personal backup after you have a running setup once

sorry for the repeated messages above, I dont know what happened...

I have some many backups but after the 2023 release they did not work anymore...I dont know why. I keep pushing repair and it will not be repaired...

nteresting... You load them both simultaneously?  I have always loaded AIGTC first then once it is up I loaded MSFS hence the compounded load time.

I start them both at the same time using Addon Linker and that works fine. MSFS takes much longer to load so the long start times for AIGTC are no issue really.

Thank you!  Yeah, I was making the mistake of loading AIGTC first, waiting for it to finish then launching MSFS which compounded my loading times.  Appreciate the feedback!

Have a Wonderful Day

thanks for the suggestion I just tried twice. I pressed verify setup and AIG crashed twice...

here the log files:

LOG_AIG

It is strange because I think I have all the files but AIG keeps downloading and the size is now almost 60GB...

Anyone else click "Update" for SimObjects and Models in AI Manager but after what appears to be "progress" and completion the Update button is still red?

This never happens with Flightplan updates, only Models/SimObjects.

@Kaiii3 What's the reason the TC quits every time the MSFS closes?

Good question 😉
