MSFS System Error after Windows Update

Featured Replies

Just after I had updated  Win11pro, launching MSFS gives an error: "ffx_fsr2_api_x64.dll was not found .... reinstalling the program may fix this problem". Never had a problem like this. Maybe it is pure coincidence but it happened directly after a Windows update. Restarting the PC/MSFS did not help. I really don't want to reinstall :-((

after error confirmation more errors follow:

"amd_ags_x64.dll"  and  "GFSDK_Aftermath_Libx64.dll" are missing too .. What the *** has happened here?

I don't think my problem has anything to do with bitlocker problems. PC starts normally. Other apps and programs do work.

Sounds like a lot of core critical files are 'missing', shortcut pointing somewhere it shouldn't, perhaps the main folder has been deleted or something? I'd go check what's in the core folder with the .exe. Getting that reinstalled / repaired is a 10 minute process as long as the community / official folder is intact.

Fixed it via Xbox app "repair files". Took me only 1 minute (after some backups). Airborne again. 🙂

Welcome and yes, it is always good practice to report how an issue has been fixed. I'm always a bit annoyed when people report they fixed a problem but don't say how ...
