I'm buying a Quest 3 for MSFS 2024.

Change my mind!

Well I clicked on that link and saw "Starts at $699" and though great! But when I clicked on the link it brought me to the store where it turns out its more like CAD$1100 without the controllers.

The Quest3 is about CAD$650 with controller. I don't doubt the CL is better but I would guess its marginally better so not worth paying twice as much for me.

With MSFS 2020 and 2024 is there any real benefit forking out an extra $200 to getting the 512 over the 128gb version.

😶

Your Canadian exchange rate is insane.  You need someone from the US to buy this thing for you and ship it up there.

Pimax Crystal Light | VR Headsets

The 'No Local Dimming' version at $699 will be the one to get for MSFS when it's available (dimming is too dark in the sim at night).👍

Others need to chime in about the CL being marginally better than the Q3.  It's scalable meaning it grows with your hardware and can look on par with the monitor.  Even with a 4090 we don't quite have the hardware available to pull that off but the CL can when we get there.  I would imagine that beats the Q3.🤔

Indeed! Canada has turned into what DT used to call a S*** hole country!🤣

Anyway, The CL is not for me. I'm still running a system with an i9 10900K and In the chat window Pimax informed me that it doesn't meet their minimum system requirements.

I'm looking at the PlayStation VR with PC adapter. That might change my mind!

HUH! I just notices in your signature that you are running an i7 10700F so I figure the guy managing their chat window doesn't have a clue.

Fidel Castro son is running your country into the ground. After WW2, they switched venues.

Post your system specs.

That video card is a little low but you should be able to use the CL.🧐  I'm speechless concerning the guy in the chat.  He must be trying to loose business for Pimax on purpose, no excuse for what he told you.

I bought the Quest 3 and returned it. Everything was kind of blurry in the foreground and horizon. Instruments looked sharp if I leaned in. I think the Quest 3 also needs a fast GPU so you can upscale it to higher resolution with satisfactory FPS. Everything looks super sharp in the CL, but you really need a fast GPU to get the most out of it.

Thanks, I think I am leaning toward the PlayStation VR headset with the PC addapter. I won't be upgrading my PC for sometime and I seen very positive review of this headset suggesting that it is quite a bit better than the Quest 3 for MSFS

I wish the CL had an OLED display! Pull the trigger, let us know how you like it!

OK, I think I'll go with the CL despite that I am not going to update my 3090 for at least another couple of years. Once that's updated to a 5090 or whatever. That will be that. Whatever I have then I'll be taking to the grave! 🤣If I go with the PlayStation VR2 it will be $750 plus another $100 for the unavailable adapter is CAD$850 plus tax so I might as well go with the Pimax for CAD$1232. Its less than $400 more plus tax so! Although I'll wait a few more weeks and see if there any black friday/cyber monday deals before I pull the trigger. And since the last VR headset I had was Samsung Odyssey Plus which I paid $299 for 😮I'll take the time to bone up on VR
