October 29, 20241 yr We're taking the Van's RV10 out for a VFR trip. S43 (via RNT, SEA, 2S1, TIW) to KHQM. Our RV is sporting a stunning new livery from TimHH: https://flightsim.to/file/83712/sws-van-s-rv-10-n410rv-dynamic-registration Ready for engine start at S43 If you're landing 15's you better watch out for these lines! S43 from Orbx Looking NW towards the San Juan Islands Looking east at the Wenatchee Mountains Initial climb to 2,500, we'll call up Renton tower for a class D transition, then quickly get over to Seattle tower for a class B transition - cities of Redmond and Bellevue ahead We stay just outside the class B and approach VFR reporting point 'KENT' (VPKNT) as we request a freq change from RNT to SEA tower Picking up the clearance... "RV 410RV cleared through the Seattle class bravo airspace via the Mariner Transition, cross over runway 34C threshold, maintain 2,500, squawk 0123" A busy place... but its quite safe to cross over the threshold here as it's unlikely any aircraft on approach or departure would be where I am! Looking north at Puget Sound and Downtown Seattle A lovely grass strip at Vashon Island (2S1) Clearing the lower bravo shelf we squawk VFR and change frequencies, and begin a climb to 4500 Off the left wing, KTIW Tacoma Narrow bridge/airport and three distant volcanoes: Rainier, Adams (and maybe Mt Hood?) A beautiful panel setup (in the eye of the beholder lol) powered by our TDS GTN 650Xi which transforms the G3X into a powerful IFR navigator We turn SW towards Elma and Satsop, WA (home of the abandoned nuclear plant from the 1980s) (operated by ghosts now---- spooooky) Anyway we continue on towards KHQM, and decide to shoot the practice RNAV RWY 24 via LAMMB A nice touchdown on 24 then we taxi into the old (revived) Lana's Cafe - the real one moved to the east into "downtown" Hope you've enjoyed the always lovely PNW! | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

November 2, 20241 yr Lovely series from your tour, Ryan. The a/c looks outstanding... I recall flying one of Orbx's a/c, also a Vans, in the past SIMs, but it was probably a smaller variant than this one here... I've visited Seattle a couple of times. The departing shot with the colorful Balloon is a nice touch...I have also visited KHQM often, virtually ...🙂...even had made the mistake of landing once a big jetliner there which was ill-advised...🙂... I've a friend who lives in Bellevue, so, I get regular weather reports etc. of this area ...🙂...He often says, "I went to (one of) the Island for vacation..."...Could be San Juan Island, that you've flown by...Need to ask him...
