Lets look at cost, One plane 3 years of development, team of 3. Some only have one or 2 others more.

Wage. $25 Hr

1 day $200 X  3 = $600 Pday

1 week 600 x 5 = $3000 not counting overtime etc

1 Year $3000 X52 = $156,000 Py

3 Years = $468,000 for 1 plane 3 years developing

an airbus 330 is around $264 Mill new $18 Mil used, you just paid how much for a reverse engineered multimillion dollar plane and complain.

They all have to eat, some do this as a hobby and have other jobs to help feed there families and keep roofs over there heads.

This world has changed and not for the best.

PS. How many planes do you think they would have to sell to recover there costs

So did you buy the A330?

No,, No interest. I have enough. Im looking for Twin otter, and other turboprops. Not to much interest in flying computers. Also like some naval planes, but they pretty much dont fly themselves either so no one makes them. Too many planes too busy making airports.

Have over 27 planes in my arsenal, including one airbus and 3 boeings, how many more do i need

as far as I am concerned right now, while the "new torque bug" doesn't get fixed I don't get any pleaure from flying any prop aircraft in X-Plane 😞

I know there's still the airliners, and I own the FF 757 and the Tolis 321 NEO, but I prefer to wait & see if they can fix that really irritating bug that has been plaguing XP12 for a while now and doen't get mentioned in any of the recent updates.

Yes I guess they're too busy with the new scenery...

And yes I think they also have to find slots to address the awful ATC...

And yes, there are still problems with the weather too...

but... above all I still think XP12 is [miles ahead of the competition in terms of flight dynamics](*), so, it's crucial for me that that "wrong rolling moment bug" get's finally adressed because otherwise I don't feel at ease saying (*) in public 😕

I dont suppose you read the next beta is an ATC overhaul. including Ai bug fixes and improvements. Also believe there are some weather fixes in it to, including that sudden altitude change.

Right rolling moment in all dc-3/c47s I've used in xp12. - X-Plane 12 Technical Support - X-Plane.Org Forum

I created a bug report back then, and it was acknowledged and said under analysis to find a fix...

That's just the human cost. Assume a further $32,000 for hardware, licensing (software, assets, storefront) and a 20% sales tax. At a $80 sale price, the developer nets $64 per copy (after tax), so to recoup the $500k project cost, 7,812 copies would need to be sold to break even. This does not sound too unreasonable to me if, and only if, the add-on is in great demand. If the developer is going for a niche add-on, it's going to be the first and last one from a purely commercial standpoint.
