MSFS2024 (Stock) 737 MAX (BBJ) at KSFO...

Featured Replies

It looks like I missed all the excitement of the launch-day of the MSFS 2024...🙂...Nonetheless, today, the installation, on my Xbox (Game Pass version), went reasonably well within a reasonable time, without the frustrations of any dreaded "Server" or "Queue" issues that I am reading about.

But MSFS2024 seems like a different beast altogether from my familiar domain of MSFS2020...🙂...Most significantly, the settings and controls on my Xbox Controller (which I typically I use for Camera and Screenshots), and the Thrustmaster Hotas, and the Keyboard, the 3-way combo that had enabled me to enjoy MSFS fairly well even on the Xbox; have pretty much become inoperable (I'm still figuring out how to configure the controls again, which is apparently not trivial). Anyway, for now, without worrying about those control assignments, but using the few basic controls of the Xbox Controller that (fortunately) continue to do what they are supposed to do, I did take out the (stock) 737 MAX (BBJ) for a spin in the MSFS 2024 skies...around KSFO/San Francisco Airport.

I've lifted off westward towards the ocean, from Rwy 28R, and then following a tight circuit over the Pacific, have attempted to land back on ILS Rwy 19L. I say "attempted" because, though I captured the Localizer on the final approach, I could not make the Glideslope guidance to work for me for some reason. I must be doing something wrong, so, please excuse that there are no pictures, below, of my actual landing and touchdown on this Rwy.

The golden California sun and the surrounding landscape etc. (such as the pretty hills and mountains of San Francisco that I passed over), see images below, from my short (tentative) flight, here, seemed similar to my MSFS2020 experience.

Hope you enjoy this collection of images from this (first) test-flight of mine...as I continue to explore a working set-up for my MSFS2024...on the Xbox...while also trying to find, maybe, another hairdo for my co-pilot...🙂...

Thanks for viewing...! And happy flying with whatever SIM you're on at the moment...e.g., the good old MSFS2020 or the new (unruly) kid on the block, aka MSFS2024...🙂...

Cheers...!

A noticeable step up visually from what you've been serving up with your MS2020 posts (no offense, I hope 🙂). Your favored golden-sunset genre is looking even more stunning now!

Fine shots on the B737, however in the few shots flying over some scenery, especially San Francisco city, is in basic resolution. Can rendering not follow downloading?

Beautiful shots! 🙂

Thanks, ikbenik. Yes, around big cities and airports, I've never been able to get good PG renditions on Xbox ...it has been like this since MSFS2020, so, I was expecting better results with MSFS2024, but so far, I don't see it...still keeping hope...

Lot's of sunlight P_7878. 😀

Perhaps it has to do with the network hardware in your Xbox or whereever.

If you have a good bandwith also your network hardware must be able to do it of course. Can even be a slow network cable,

for RJ45 there are different types of cables available.

PC: Ryzen 7 3700x AM4, 16 GB RAM, RTX 3060 12GB, Storage SSD 3TB, HDD 8TB, USB 8TB, 2 Screens, Win10-64

SIMs: FSX SE, P3d 3.4/4.5/6.1, Xplane 10/11/12, MSFS 2020/24, Aerofly FS 4

Thanks much for the comment, Andreas.

I will be switching to a better data rate service soon, will see if that makes any difference...but the PG around big airports on my Xbox/MSFS2024 are eyesores...at the moment...probably even worse than what I'd in in MSFS2020...

Looking really nice P, looks like your having a great time with the new sim, so much to explore!

Appreciated the upbeat comment, Adam...🙂...We all know no SIM (new or old) is perfect...or can give everything we wish for, coming with their own pros and cons...but I'm enjoying what I've and grateful...Just this week here I was commenting on someone's post how I'd picked up the FS9 DVD from Walmart starting this hobby...more than 20 years ago, and, here today, I'm flying MSSF2024...🙂...

Looks like you are also full force yourself into MSFS2024...🙂...

Enjoy...!
