November 22, 20241 yr Does anyone know where this resides now for the included content? I need to modify the elevator_trim_limit, but can't find the file anymore. Thanks!
November 22, 20241 yr Currently it is only streamed. It may be possible to edit this later once they enable the "Save files to disk" feature. Right now, though, you can't do it. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen
November 22, 20241 yr Author Appreciate the replies, thank you. This is a setting I need to get my force feedback stick to behave properly with trim. I hope this is resolved soon. 2024 has been a massive downgrade for me so far. 😞 Thanks
January 11, 20251 yr I'm really sad to read this. I just skipped over 2 generations of FS thanks to the generosity of my family who gifted me with a new computer and MSFS 2024. For the last 20 years I've only been using FS9; and quite happily. Part of my satisfaction is that I have become very proficient at editing FDEs for aircraft. I've been heavily involved with Historic Jetliners Group where, along with Mark Cranston, I've been doing most of the flight dynamic modeling. When I looked into the generic Flight_model.cfgs, I see that they are essentially the same as in FS9, so all the tools to get a plane to fly close to its specs are there. So far, the planes I've flown in 24 are in great need of modification. This is from the C172, Cirrus Jet, and even the 707 (which I know how it should respond intimately from my work with HJG). The scenery, weather, etc are really quite good, but so far the planes, well frankly, suck. They could be much better if we just had access to the cfg file. Mike Monce

There are freeware C152 and G36 versions, along with many competent payware aircraft: RV8 and 14, A36, TBM850, C414 just to name some favorites of mine. Over time, you may end up with access to this file for the default aircraft as well.. but that is not yet available for MSFS2024. You may recall that Rob Young put a lot of work into the G36 Bonanza as an example.. that work carries forward into 2024, and I fly his Turbo G36 in the new sim. If you still have 2020 installed, you can find the files for all the aircraft that are part of the base version. The Deluxe aircraft and marketplace purchased aircraft are encrypted, unfortunately.. January 12, 20251 yr Forget all of the default aircraft. There is a world of add-ons which blow them away and you will have access to everything if you buy from outside the marketplace. 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2 - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base
