2024 stutters? Smoke DLSS if you got 'em.

Featured Replies

DLSS is must in VR 2024. The G1000 screens will be softer with DLSS but performance issues are greatly improved. I posted here because I do believe that even in 2D, and not just VR, DLSS will cover a multitude of the new 2024's sins. Softness can be slightly improved using swapper. Most of this is not just for VR.

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

I'm a fan of DLSS and certainly VR. I plan on getting a Crystal Light for VR and will try this. For 2D, I would switch over to DLSS full time, but the glass cockpit numbers are too "ghosted" for me to enjoy. Hopefully they mask those display (to eliminate the ghosting) as they mentioned they might pre MSFS2024.

Well, I need your help to better understand DLSS 😐

I'm on a 3060 Ti ( 8GB ) and have used Frame Generation in FS 2020 but eventually gave up and stayed with TAA.

When I installed FS 2024 I chose TAA but have been reading positive comments from users regarding the use of DLSS.

Should I enable DLSS with a 3060 Ti  with only 8GB VRAM?

I know I know... - try it and see for yourself... But I would like a more informed / "scientific" opinion 🙂

AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

Having a 3060Ti, I can only say the ghosting issue with glass gauges remains. I haven't yet tried with an airliner (where the DLSS ghosting bothers me the most). I've haven't yet paid attention to ground textures, which may justify TAA.
