Wow, these fellas kind of made the settings a bit difficult for someone like me that likes the KISS principle. I am now trying to figure out the control bindings with my alpha yoke and am trying to get my cockpit views set. in 2020 I was able to pan around the cockpit with the hat switch and in 2024 i don't see the bindings to allow me to do the same. Has anyone been able to set up panning views (vs snap/quick views) in 2024? If so please point it out.

It's the same terms as in MSFS 2020.  I don't have MSFS 2024 or MSFS 2020 open right now, but if you want to turn left or right inside the cockpit, it's something like Cockpit View Look Left, Cockpit View Look Right (I am paraphrasing, this may not be the exact terms as I don't have MSFS open now).  If you want to move left or right while looking at the cockpit instruments in front of you, paraphrasing, it's something like Cockpit View Translate Left and Cockpit View Translate Right (again, these are not the exact terms).

What you can do if you can't figure it out is open MSFS 2020, search for your control input and see which term it is bound to.  Take a screenshot in MSFS 2020 if you can't remember the term or just write it down on paper.  Then find the same term in MSFS 2024 and then bind your control input to that term.  Also, when you bind your input control in MSFS 2024, right after that, search for your input control to see what else it's bound to, so that you don't have conflicting bindings.

I use a Thrustmaster 16000m and it took me about 30 to 45 minutes to bind all my views and keyboard controls in MSFS 2024, including binding my hat switch for inside the cockpit and external view as I set it up in MSFS 2020.

To be honest, the huge learning curve was binding it the first time in MSFS 2020 because you have to learn all the terminology to bind to. But if you are coming from MSFS 2020, you have encountered the terminology before so it's must faster to bind in MSFS 2024 - at least it was for me.

As above but delete the existing pan views first (hover over view and press the keyboard delete key)

Got a tip that there must be an option in the MSFS2024 Controls menu (guessing here) to use the flightstick settings you use/have used in MSFS2020. Haven't tried it myself yet but it seems worth to try and find it. I just got MSFS2024 and without further ado i can fly with my flightstick (velocityone) straight out of MSFS2020. It's just the throttle that is reversed. The button i used to change views doesn't do anything.

Sorry my one finger typing was quicker than my 79 year old brain. should read - hover over view and press the keyboard BACKSPACE key not delete key.
