AI parked aircraft popping up terribly

Featured Replies

I like to have AI traffic enabled mainly to see aircraft on the airports. I am using the Medium preset for graphics. However, all AI planes pop up very noticably when I at around 100 or 150 meters from where I am. So when I taxi on a large airport I constanly see planes popping up. Quite the immersion killer.

Anyone knows which setting I could/should change to prevent this from happening?

Hi,

I have also jumping planes and two planes in the place of one! I don’t know what to do!

The number of issues is so great that I’m thinking of having a brake and wait one or two months to see if things are getting better!

Greetings

The online issues, and setting up my controls and throttles were the reason I left 2024, I sincerely hope that these issues are fixed over the coming months.

I don't have any jumping problems. My problem is the AI planes only pop into view when I get really close. So during startup the airport seems empty but when I start taxi I see planes popping up in a (too) small radius around me.

Found the setting. Under Graphics > Global Rendering Quality > Advanced you need to set Traffic Airport Quality to (at least) High. This setting not only takes care of the quality but also the density and, most important for me, the DISPLAY DISTANCE. Pity these aren't seperate settings... but with this at High the airports are instantly populated! 🙂

I saw a hilarious video from a regular MSFS poster in YouTube. He landed at a GA airport that had about 50 GA parking spots. They were about 80% full but every time he got close to an empty spot an AI plane would pop into it. He tried several times but never got an empty spot. On his last try he sped toward two empty spots, and as he pulled in both were filled by AI. Most of the videos I have watched show AI popping in and out at the gates.

Mines on Ultra and I still see popping - we’ve also gone back to planes floating slightly above  the ground - I though that was a thing of the past after Asobo fixed it in 2020.

another thing not learned.
