2024 Flight Recorder and Fenix

Featured Replies

Anyone else been able to successfully play back a flight using the Fenix A319,20,21 in the insim built flight recorder? Every single time I play it back for a pushback the engines are on and they end up going on to reverse thrust.

Asus Tuf Gaming Plus B550 - Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Asus GeForce 4080 RTX OC Edition - 64GB DDR4 (3600Mhz) - EVGA 850W Power Supply - 2X 1 TB NVME PCIE gen 4 - Windows 11 (25H2)

I've tried to replay a touch and go once and it "broke" the aircraft - pretty much unusable after that.

The flight recorder - actually all the various flight recorders - don't really work with anything that has custom coding outside the SDK. It just can't recognise these events so you do tend to get pretty funky playbacks unfortunately.

The paid version of FCR by Fabi Merlo, developer of the ingame tool, is somehow tailored to certain payware aircraft. This may be missing in the in-game version (can't tell because I'm not on 2024 yet). With the payware however, it is important for the Fenix to first switch to the main menu after recording and then start a fresh flight with the engines running before playing the replay. Not doing so leads to strange effects. Perhaps this also helps with the in-game version. It is admittedly then more suitable for video production, not so much as an instant replay.

I’ve used this app for years now. It works with the fenix in 2024. You manually have to select reverse thrust though.

But I find it works well for my use.

I've used this. In my opinion it works as well as any of the paid versions.
