Shimmering displays

Featured Replies

Do someone now how to fix that issue?

Pc specs.
RTX 4070 Super
32GB 3200mhz on XMP
I7 10700k

Settings in the sim are mix of medium, high and only some on ultra. I use TAA with native Frame generation. LOD set to 130

I have locked fps to 162(165Hz monitor) and forced gsync in NCP

Shimmering glass cockpit displays when panning/zooming, as well as many kinds of tarmac textures will strobe/flicker under the same conditions when panning/taxiing and especially when looking down out of a side window towards taxiway under many lighting conditions when DLSS FG is used.  The only solution for me is when in conditions that contribute especially to the tarmac/taxiway issue as mentioned I turn native FG off because it flat out is the cause of this.  FWIW, that issue is worsened when using TAA and AMD FX sharpening and if I'm unable to meet my frame rate base which is normally set at 45fps I sometimes will use native FG but use DLSS Super Resolution w/ DLAA which softens these issues at the cost of ghosted characters.

I have enough horsepower to run 45fps with the absolute best possible image quality and stability everywhere in any plane and would not trade that in for more frame rate as 45 is decent enough.   Many appear not to care/notice the artifacts associated w/ FG and that IMO may be secondary to the display type in use.

Some believe this began w/ SU14 which would be fabulous as it might imply it's fixable.

Is this correct? 165Hz is an unusual refresh rate for a monitor.  And 162 seems a very high figure to lock fps at.

Yes it is. I have a LG 32" monitor with a refresh rate of 165.

This sim amazing, I am flight simmer for many years. When I had some issue on p3d, fsx, xp11 There was always a fix.

What is going out here I use frame gen in msfs 2024 and its stable, I use frame generation mod (AMD) and its stable, no shimmering on screens, only artifacts outside the cockpit window. I bought RTX 40 series card to use native frame gen, and its not working correctly, that’s bull word not allowed.

I can run the sim in low end settings and the problem is also there.

It is very disappointing for a 4000 series user, I use Optiscaler FG with my 3090 and it works flawlessly, I don't have this shimmering nor hud artifacts.

Maybe OP can give it a try as well.
