MSFS 2024 Logbook Location

Featured Replies

I'm sure its somewhere but I can't find it. Can someone tell me where the logbook is stored in MSFS2024.

Thanks .. Richard

In mine is in

AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\SystemAppData\wgs\000901FA0879C16C_000000000000000000000000604CC91B\66EC0697400541C588AD6CB0BFFC692C

I supose every system was the same base, changing numeral folders.

Cheers

Is this for steam? I'm not finding it.

Suggest a stop to the search.  For years, across multiple simulators and versions, I have maintained a highly accurate log in Microsoft Excel.  With it I am am able to build tabs to track the history of all the airports I have flown to or from, hours by aircraft type and model, etc.  Considerably more rewarding than the miserable logbooks in most simulators.

In fact, the only sim that created and maintained a respectable logbook was the subLogic (the creator of MS FS back at the original start) simulation "Flight Assignment: ATP".  It not only kept a great logbook.  It had a series of (50) assigned flights and graded pilot performance for each as it tracked a careers progress over those 50 flights.  No simulator has even come close to that since.

Excel has done great for me.  An Excel workbook with multiple tabs for various aspects of flights.

I do this too. Then the whole thing gets run through Tableau.

Given that FS is a Microsoft product, it is actually quite surprising (and disappointing) that they don't put more effort into the logbook. It wouldn't be rocket science for them to have a more comprehensive logbook with options to download/save as Excel or CSV. The option for collecting position data that could be viewed with Bing maps would be nice also. This can be done with 3rd party, but should be part of the native sim IMHO.

As far P3D v3, last one I used, you could still edit the logbook…

Since, MSFS 2020 I have given up.

I was looking for the location of the logbook file(s) as it doesn't appear to be updating. Been stuck on 125 free flights forever.

Posted this in answer to a similar question:

"For Steam try searching for a folder named "2537590" ... for me this is under a folder called "userdata". As I now have Steam on multiple drives this "userdata" folder is not on the same drive as my MSFS2024 installation ... so you may have to hunt around a little if you also have Steam on multiple drives.  Anyway, you will find folders for controller setups, logbook, etc under this numerical folder.  I believe "2537590" is the steam App ID for MSFS2024 ... you can find same config folders for MSFS2020 under "1250410". Save these folders as a backup in case your settings get corrupted. Cheers!"
