Gear issue with the Turbine Duke

Featured Replies

Not sure if this is a bug or what it could be, but seems like lately, I've had an issue with extending the landing gear in the Turbine Duke. I'll use the gear handle to drop the gear, but it hangs in the well and won't extend. The handle is down, but it takes several tries before it finally extends.

Anyone else observing this?

As an aside, I don't believe there is a means of a manual extension of the gear...

Maybe a long shot, but some planes require a minimum airspeed to fully engage flaps and gear..

Manual extension is located behind the "co-pilot" seat, just behind the fuel selectors.  It's a red lever.  I can't seem to find much about it in the manual.  Have you made sure the generators and all appropriate systems are functioning?  Check the tablet for failures?

Good to know about the location of the manual extension.

When this has happened, it’s been an otherwise normal flight, with everything functioning correctly. I checked the failures on the tablet and nothing was indicated.

That is pretty strange.  I feel like MSFS is plagued with random bugs we never had before.  Things just stop working or don't work correctly.  I've seen a number of reports of people having aircraft just stop functioning and nothing fixes it, short of maybe a total reinstall.

Yesterday ,  I noticed that the right main gear of the Turbo Duke was showing from time to time ( no wheel just the main strut )

Nothing abnormal in the cockpit and then the problem went away.

This maybe completely unconnected but I had a similar issue with the blackbird T6A gear. It would go down ok but when retracted the gear lever was constantly clicking and the red unsafe lights were flickering.

i went through all the control settings looking for conflicting assignments but there were none.

I finally removed the FSW Cessna 414 and Learjet from the community folder and now the T6A gear works fine.

i don’t pretend to know how that fixed it but it did, so maybe look at what else you have installed that maybe causing a conflict somewhere.

Ahh yes, under the airspeed white arrow (175), you can drop approach flaps and gear, then in the white line (135) you can extend full flaps.  It is strange such a simple aircraft would prevent you from lowering the gear, but it does lol.
