Taking the Private Pilot's Test

Featured Replies

I have a question for the first certificate test in Career mode, that of Private Pilot.

I'm told by the instructor to "show them my best left traffic", but then my pilot announces on the CTAF that he's making right traffic.

Do I make left or right traffic to pass?

Also, once I get in the pattern, the guidance for landing indicates the opposite runway, in other words, taking off on Rwy 21 and landing Rwy 3.

Is that what's required to pass? It makes no sense.

Do whatever you want, you will pass anyway:p. I took off in the opposite direction atc told me and circled and landed in a very unconventional way and still passed. As long as you land you will be okay I think:p

After that I left career mode and went back to classical free flight and never looked back haha

Most of the tests are bogus . Frankly they could at least try to resemble simplified private check ride, and make it educational! Like learning about wind correction in rectangular pattern or making turns which roll out on the same heading.  What we have is neither fun nor educational 😞

It's a total mess - and shouldn't have been released in this useless/unfinished/buggy state. Even a 9yr old will get bored or frustrated with this offering.

I'm not sure what the trick is. I made three different successful landings, with different patterns and still failed each time.

Frankly I forgot when I last use career. Neofly and APL2 works in 24 just like 2020. So I don't care about career gimmick.

I agree with they should have not released career or better let 3rd party developer to do it for them.

I think it may something to do with airport of you choosing. I did my career in KSEZ. So for me as long as you land without crashing you passed
