no taxiway/runway informations

Featured Replies

Dave,

Since one of the recent updates of V3 the program loads without taxiway and runway information . The "show" function in data management shows only the map. The result is that the taxi-instruction is limited to "taxi to runway xx" or "taxi to gate xyz" (btw gate information is loaded).

I can load taxiway information of saved airports but to activate them I have to restart the program and everything is lost again.

I noticed that when I load saved taxiway information of an airport the pop-up is looking for a filename ICAO_Taxiways (filename used in V2) where the airports are saved as ICAO.txl. Maybe this is an indication of where the problem is. I can't find any errors in the log-files but can of course send one to you.

Regards,

Rob

Have problem importing taxi ways from LFML in XP , says zero TWYs imported. And none in map.

When checking that airport in WED, World Editor where you can create edit airports. + a lot more there are
plenty of taxiways there and are correct, there is a Validate function in WED that just checks that it is all OK.

Strange !!

Rob,

Try downloading the latest full version(0.0.29).  There was a problem with the Taxiway database on earlier version where many airports were missing.  The new one should work better.

OK there is also something strange with Gates. At LEMD atc said Taxi to G153 but did not find it. when I checked with WED there are 500 series of gates in that place and in P2A G153 is there + 553

I will check again with the New 29

I just tried importing from LFML from XP12 and it worked.

Double check that your Import Source is pointing to the X-Plane root folder, like C:\X-Plane 12 if you have it installed on the C drive root.

Dave

Yes it is correct I:\X-Plane 12 can import from other airports

After installing full v29 I first of all checked LEMD gates before doing anything. Lots of gate starting with Gxxx but there are no gates there starting with G.

And after import of gates right ones in this case eg. 553 that is correct is blended with G gates that does not exist that also is missplaced.

How can I delete everything for an for an airport and start with no data at all for an airport? So import gets it right

The thing is that airport creators/modifiers like me are using real world charts to get taxiway names and gates numbering/names correct.
It is very easy to do in WED that is a free tool from Laminar. Eg. easy to get an background satellite image to place things terminals and gates in correct place + rest of airport.
Then check charts for names of things. Then add the ground painting including gate number.

This is what made me confused at LEMD, ATC told me to taxi to G153. Taxiways names was OK but there where no G153 at that place
instead all gate hade numbers in 500 serie and where taxi path in P2A showed me gate G153 is the real name is 553 painted on the ground, if I recall number right.

So best is to start with totally empty database and then do a import of everything or That tickbox Import all Airports ticked should start with deleting everything.
Now it only messing things up with old data. I would like to have a button Clear all Airport data maybe with a warning pop up box.

Still have problem importing LFML taxiways, gates work. Must be something wrong with it. I will do a deep check of the taxiways, might be that names or something is missing
here and there. No problem to import other airport taxiway I have tested.

When you import gates into P2A, it deletes all gates at the airport in question, then reads the gates from the SIM and then writes those gates to the database.  If you end up with a mix of old and new gates, it must be due to those gates being in the SIM data.

The same process is used for importing taxiways.

Let us know what you find on the deep dive.

I tried P2A V2 and it did clear up Gates at LEMD, all G gates are gone. So if G gates are in sim they should have been there

I just imported LEMD gates and all the G-xxx gates were gone and a lot more gates were added.

Had to press the Hide Gates button, then Show Gates button, to refresh the gates display.

Dave
