Another option to reduce fan noise is to use MSI Afterburner to limit either power or temperature to get a satisfactory outcome. You can also save it to a profile and set up a hot key to quickly switch between the two profiles as you please.

  • My MSFS2024 simrig is in a Corsair 7000D Airflow case with the side panel off, and a fan blowing onto the gpu.   Do I need to do that?  No.  Do I want to do that?  Yes, because it drops my gpu temps b

  • Not now, not 2 weeks before the release of the 5000 series!

  • You may try to set a maximum FPS of ~35 and see if that helps. It did for me. Also lowering your graphic settings can have a positive impact, don't use Ultra settings.

Then don't overclock with it.

I have an RTX 3080 and had the same issue with heat and power draw. I don't have those issues anymore after undervolting the card to run at 850mV at max boost clock limited to 1800 MHZ. Try it, it's simple. All you need is MSI Afterburner app (works with any brand) and guides are available on Youtube. Create a profile and set it to load when you run MSFS. Performance hit from undervolting is negligible. But the power and heat reduction is huge.
