I think updating Winwing products is mandatory when you receive them, before the first use.
But it doesn't mean it changes something !
BTW, in the software they ask to disconnect all USB devices from the computer before updating the firmware, but I never did it and had zero problem.
What I suggest however is to disconnect your MCDU before updating the FMC so as to have only one Winwing device connected during the update.
😉

I just completed my second flight with the MCDU and there were no problems whatsoever, no firmware was updated. I freak out from firmware updates, worrying it might fail for any reason !!

I will now unbox my PFP3N unit and test it for the first time.

CPU: 7800X3D | RAM: 64GB G.Skill Trident Z Neo CL32 | Mobo: Gigabyte Aorus Elite AX GPU: Gigabyte RTX 4090 OC

I did the update before the first flight. But as David wrote, you have to remove other USB devices, like stick, yoke rudder etc.

AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D,

MSI RTX 5090,

64GB RAM 6000MHz DDR5,

Tuf Gaming X870Plus, 1200W PSU

English is not my first language.

Alright i'll keep this in mind when doing the update.

CPU: 7800X3D | RAM: 64GB G.Skill Trident Z Neo CL32 | Mobo: Gigabyte Aorus Elite AX GPU: Gigabyte RTX 4090 OC

MCDU Firmware updated successfully and just unboxed and updated the firmware of the PFP3N

i'll do a test flight now...will report back

Great...so my PFP3N is black now after updating the firmware, it updated successfully but it seems to be dead, the side lights flicker when I plug in the cable, the app says connected but I have a black screen, I don't see the wingwing logo anymore

I think I found the issue...it's the brightness sliders in the app were lowered to Zero....wth !!! This freaked me out

Edit: this didn't fix it...main screen is still black...hmmmm...

Ah not good you will figure it out - maybe is it possible to go back to previous software version to rule that out ?

Hi... What's the correct font to use from the PMDG 738 font folder?

I think I've cycled them all but none look 100%

I found the solution for the black screen, this was not straight forward as the MCDU panel...but glad it finally worked

the solution is here:

It's working fine now, but the EXEC button issue still exists even though it's was mentioned that it got fixed in the new SimApp.
