February 10, 20251 yr One thing I do (in the sim) is look for the first fix in the ILS approach...often for sea level airports it will be 3000' but of course this will vary sometimes depending on the airport. Typically this waypoint has an "at or above" altitude constraint (in this example at or above 3000 feet). I usually change that to an "at" altitude constraint which gives a bit of buffer on the descent., It's not perfect, and the descent winds can play a factor as well but it helps. I'm not sure if that's a realistic approach or not.
