Fenix colors of the FD bars, clock, etc...

Featured Replies

Anybody else having issues with the color / brightness of the FD bars, clock etc. ? I find myself struggling a lot to make out those writings / bars.

If I look at videos, those FD bars are so bright ("luminescent") that you can't unsee them. Any brighter and they would burn in your retina.

Why not just turn the brightness knobs to your liking ?

@willy647 I obviuosly do that but it dimms / brightens all of it. I'm having issues with the the FD bars on blue and the digital clock on the ND on gray background.

To increase the brightness in those switches you must select the switch indicated in  BRT position on the overhead panel.

@polosim that controlls the brightness of the annunciator lights. I'm talking about the FD and ND displays especially the FD bars and the clock in the lower left corner of the ND.

FD bars

That same switch controls the brightness of FD bars, for the case of the clock it is the knob located on the panel pedestal called INTEG LT that is located just below the spokes on the captain's side

@polosim as much as I appreciate you trying to help me, I must say that you have no idea what I'm talking about.

In front of your seat there are 2 LCD displays (primary flight display unit aka PFD and the navigation display aka ND). On the PFD there are 2 lines, one vertical and one horizontal aka Flight Director. The green color is hard to see when you pitch up since they are on blue background. The ND shows you a clock if you start it by pressing the CHRONO button. The CHRONO is then displayed on the lower left corner of the ND on a grey background - again hard to see.

So none of your turn buttons control ONLY those lines or colors. Yes, you can change the brightness of both LCD displays but that also changes the brightness of all elements displayed on them.

Have you posted a pic of what it is you are talking about? If so, I'm not seeing it.

Use the brightness knobs to the left of the PFD (Captains side). One for PFD, two dials for ND.

@SpeedBudgie yup, I know those. Looking at your picture, I think that the FD cross could stand out a bit more.. It must be my monitor.
