February 9, 20251 yr Not sure why I'm getting screen tearing, even though I have V-sync ON. I am currently using the latest DLSS 4 (preset K) with NVIDIA drivers 572.16. These are my settings. I'm playing on a 4K TV 60hz. Don't ever recall having this problem when using autofps app. Edited February 9, 20251 yr by captain420 ASUS ROG Maximus Hero XII ▪︎ Intel i9-10900K ▪︎ NVIDIA RTX 3090 FE ▪︎ 64GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro ▪︎ Windows 10 Pro (21H1) ▪︎ Samsung 970 EVO Pro 1TB NVME SSD (OS Drive) ▪︎ Samsung 860 EVO 2TB SATA SSD ▪︎ Seagate 4TB SATA HDD ▪︎ Corsair RMx 850W PSU

February 9, 20251 yr Author Also not sure why my fps shows only 19-20fps when the sim feels super smooth. February 9, 20251 yr Turn Vsync off in the sim, turn it on from NVCP first. I keep the latency on fast as its meant to be used that way with Gsync monitors. Also, I would use a different FPS counter 7800+4090+64ram Just Flight RJ, 146 and F28, Piper Arrows ---A2A Aerostar and Comanche---Black Square Starship, Duke(s), TBM, Bonanza/BaronV2, KingAir---FSReborn FSR500---COWS Da42---FX P180, HJet & VJet---FlySimWare Chancellor and LearJet---FlightSimStudio EMB175 &P2006T---Fenix 320---PMDG DC6, 737(700+900), 777---C22J---Milviz Cessna 310 & Porter---SimWorksStudios Kodiak, PC12, Zenith & RV14---BigRadials Goose---IndiaFoxEcho MB3339+F35.
February 10, 20251 yr Author What FPS counter do you recommend. I don't use a Gsync compatible display. I just use a 4k TV (60hz). I only see tearing with frame generation on. With it off, I have no tearing. But I will give what you say a try and see if I can get rid of the tearing with FG enabled. Also, do you know what that AUTO EXPOSURE: ON means and how do I turn it off? February 10, 20251 yr I would turn OFF vsync in the sim. And OFF in Riva Tuner. And OFF in NCP. And OFF in Lossless Scaling (which for some reason is called "allowe tearing" (turn on "allow tearing" turns Vsyc OFF is LS which is what you want). Then set a limit of 29 FPS in Riva Tuner. Then fly LS at 2X. It is now impossible to have screen tearing because your monitor can't go over 60 on your TV and the sim can't run over 58 fps. February 10, 20251 yr (Installing Riva Tuner takes awhile because when you click on the .exe file to install it, it takes many minutes and installs slowly). https://www.guru3d.com/download/rtss-rivatuner-statistics-server-download/ Edited February 10, 20251 yr by Fielder 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. February 10, 20251 yr This idea might work better with 120Hz monitor and setting the fps limit to 38 and using 3X in Lossless Scaling. It shouldn't go over 114 fps. I always use RTSS locked at 38 and LS at 3X when flying in 2D and monitor set to 120Hz. I wish this was possible in VR 😞 Edited February 10, 20251 yr by Fielder 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. February 10, 20251 yr I've had this problem before and have had to go through a quick process of elimination. Try: Vsync on in MSFS V sync on in NVCP V sync on in both For some reason, I seem to need V sync on in both atm, but I'm sure that has not always been the case. I've also set my G sync compatible monitor to V sync as G sync does not perform that great when frame rates get a bit low, especially using head tracking.
