MSFS24 internet connectivity

Featured Replies

Yea, just to confirm, because today I lost internet connection to the house for a short time and 2024 basically continues for about a minute and then goes into active pause. It is entirely unflyable without a live connection.

Darn...

That was the case in the beginning and I had hoped they were addressing the whole pause without a connection model but I guess not.  Does it at least resume automatically or does it still just sit there waiting for you to unpause?

I hope it at least seamlessly resumes...

It sits and waits for your to resume it! I got up and rebooted my router and it reestablished the connection when I got back to MSFS it was in active pause with a menu asking if I wanted to resume.

Yes, if your internet is unreliable MSFS 2024 is not for you. Thankfully we have an excellent pure offline sim in XP 12 for when the net dies.

While that is true, a good WiFi connection is perfectly acceptable for 2024.

I run it via WiFi and have no issues.

That's good to know, I'm moving house soon and having an ethernet cable isn't that practical in the new place, so I may have to solely use WiFi.

Currently get 350mbps download and 90mbps upload (in current house), that will vary depending on other WiFi connections obviously but I may be able to boost that for my PC and set a higher priority to secure my connection (seeing as I pay the bill I think that's perfectly fair enough!).
