May 23, 200818 yr Just a heads up. RealityXP just released their Garmin GPS for FSX. You will drool over this one!I bought the 530, looks like I'll be spending the next few days in training manuals.Check it out.http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=26449http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=26413
May 23, 200818 yr This is a masterpiece of a real world instrument. I am so thankful to Reality Xp for creating this for fsx.Having real working instruments like this is invaluable for training and is extremely appreciated! My blog:http://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/188843.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

May 23, 200818 yr How you can take good news and turn it into bad news never ceases to amaze me...http://www.mediafire.com/imgbnc.php/1b5baf...b9f427f694g.jpgMy blog:http://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/ Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
May 23, 200818 yr Perhaps your good news is my bad news. Sure, this is neat, but it's not my cup of tea. Meanwhile, the A320 has seemingly been abandoned which disappoints me.
May 23, 200818 yr How do you equate the release of this instrument to an abandoning of the A320?-enquiring minds wish to know.... http://www.mediafire.com/imgbnc.php/1b5baf...b9f427f694g.jpgMy blog:http://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/ Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
May 23, 200818 yr Hi all,I've been looking forward for the FSX Garmin a long, long time.Is the Garmin working OK in Vista? Is the use of the Garmin in FSX still based on the Garmin Trainer? If yes, Is the Garmin Trainer still a 16 bit program?Ulf BCore2Duo X6800 3.3GHz4GB RAM Corsair XMS2-8500C5BFG 8800GTX, Creative SB X-FiFSX Acc/SP2, Vista 32
May 23, 200818 yr Running fine in Vista 32. 64 may still be a problem as is my elite harware module which I recently bought... :-(Don't know about the 16 bit vs. 32 bit the response time seems almost exactly like the real world unit. (I don't own one but I fly regularly as safety pilot for one who has one). Amazing cause I know as much or more than my friend who has one as I've practiced many more hours in the sim than he has flown for real. May 23, 200818 yr You have it wrong, Geoff ;) and I agree with Alex, I know him! He's a good guy.Glad that you, Alex, appreciate what Jean-Luc has accomplished here for, as with me, I know that you use these Garmin units in real life, and that it will further your currency using FS in these days of absurd fuel prices. Not easy flying for real these days, is it?Many real pilots will appreciate this, like yourself.Remember when we paid some $3000 to upgrade our real non-WAAS units to WAAS, and then Garmin raised the price to $3000 for the upgrade alone, and the avionics shop added their $1000 or more to that for the new antenna, wiring, etc? These days, one might spend as much as $4500 to upgrade their non-WAAS units.Indeed, Jean-Luc has a family to support, and he knows that there are more real GA Garmin pilots out there like you, ones who will appreciate this fine piece of avionics, than there are Airbus captains.Happy to have you supporting Jean-Luc's fine work, despite the Airbus delay. :)I know you wanted to see the Airbus, but I also know where your real heart lay, and while the Airbus project is not dead, I am happy to see your support for a piece of avionics that is more prevelant in the world today than any Airbus or any jet airliner is.That's right, more Garmins out in the real world of aviation than all the world's jet airliners from all the manufacturers put together and multiplied by 2, or is it 6 or 10? :)Regards,http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...R_FORUM_LOU.jpg
May 23, 200818 yr 64 is not provided for yet, as it is still proving troublesome (Vista is not exactly easy to deal with to say the least), and I hope MS replaces it soon!.However, RXP will get it working with 64, but they had to get the unit out for the vast majority who use 32 and, make no mistake about it, the vast majority of FS users are using 32.Geof, you are using Elite hardware?Oy! Didn't I ever send you over to my friend, Mike Altman, at Precision Flight Controls (PFC)?Send me an e-mail and I'll hook you up with them. Great folks too.Regards,http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...R_FORUM_LOU.jpg
May 23, 200818 yr Don't talk to me about Vista-I have had 3 months of Vista h@@@....and I am still there-the sp1 update Vista causes havock on my new computer every time. I have spent a month with ms support-and it looks like it may continue for quite a while...fsx looks like a picnic in compare..are things not supposed to get better with time?I envy the 1st version of windows that I could restore in 20 minutes from a cassette tape drive in the early 1980's-things certainly don't seem to be better now...and catch 22 has a new meaning! The only elite hardware I got was the radio stack-and after buying it they promptly issued a statement that they would not suppport vista 64.Have not done pfc yet-but with the current fuel prices now-even with all the troubles fs/fsx it is probably a better bargain!http://www.mediafire.com/imgbnc.php/1b5baf...b9f427f694g.jpgMy blog:http://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/ Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
May 23, 200818 yr I love my PFC Cirrus II with radio stack, very high quality and excellent support from a friendly staff. I'd easily call it Beechcraft quality :) Dr Zane Gard Sr Staff Reviewer AVSIM Private Pilot ASEL since 1986 IFR 2010 AOPA 00915027 American Mensa 100314888
May 23, 200818 yr I agree the PFC would be the ultimate. I do have a rather nice setup though-with an actual real Baron throttle quad that was sent to me for free from another wonderful flight simmer out of the blue.(There are some nice flight simmers out there believe it or not! :-lol).The only thing missing is a certain Baron on the screen.... cough....Lou.....I just won't be making the step to Vista 64 for some time-though considering my troubles with Vista 32 I might get twice the troubles! :-lolhttp://www.mediafire.com/imgbnc.php/1b5baf...b9f427f694g.jpgMy blog:http://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/188849.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
May 23, 200818 yr All right..this requires the latest and greatest FS Panel if I want to modify the VC and I Installed that and wanted to see if everything was ok. But this new version of FSPanel...I can't see the bitmap of most of my gauges when I open the PANEL.CFGs. Sigh!Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
