FSX Blurries v. X-plane 9 Non- Blurries

Recommended Posts

>result: if you want to fly just to fly and mainly look>outside, switch to x-plane. i believe x-plane will surpass>msfs in the years to come. oh ya, the support and developers>are extremely friendly and supportive.>I love flying, and especially looking outside! Just finished a short X-Plane cross country across the mountains out of KSLC because the real weather is so awful outside. But, as usual, I came away from this adventure with a slight headache. I always get headaches with X-Plane! Despite rumors of superior flight dynamics, it's just too twitchy! It still lacks in the basics of feel, such as dampening, mass, inertia, and power to weight. As someone else mentioned, the feel is "arcade", despite what X-Plane marketing says. I still have to agree. If I want that sensation of feel, that somehow re-creates sensations from a real plane, then that FSX addon -- SF260 pictured in the above reply, sure does a great job!Other than that, I've used demo and bought en versions of X-Plane for a lot of years, right along with the MSFS series. I don't see it passing MSFS anytime soon. Just too many exceptional 3rd party addons for MSFS. I usually use X-Plane for a different version of topography with it's global disks. But as a pilot/plane owner, I'm not that thrilled "flying" X-Plane...L.Adamson

There's that dead horse again!I suggest a DEAD HORSE Forum where certain people can just keep posting the same ol' stuff over and over and over again and nobody would care.Hey Tim how are those AI voices that sound worse than the MS Speech engine?Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/

One of the things that always drove me away from X-Plane was the generic nature of their scenery objects. There was very little recognizable scenery objects. For example, I have yet to see a shot in X-Plane, that had anything resembling the Empire State Building!!

Thanks

>Interesting, I wonder what X plane 9 looks like?>>Oh, and Nick, what does:>>DisablePreload=1>>do?>>Preload will load the scenery for the default startup flight when you first load FSX, which is fine if that's the flight you intend to fly, most though, change to different airports so it's loading it isn't necessary, and just takes more time. It could theoretically also reduce memory resources available, at least temporarily depending on how well housekeeping is done in the code when the new scenery is loaded. Disabling preload should speed up FSX startup.

With the combination of Default, ATC, Editvoicepack, and AISmooth, I'll stay with FSX ATC!!! There is also RC as an alternative. To my knowledge there are no 3rd party alternatives in X-Plane.

Thanks

Well what if I already skip the loading screen and have a default flight? I spose it wouldn't make a difference then...For instance, I have startup=0 or something like that in my CFG

Here you can see how X-plane can look if you have the budget to do detailed airports and worldwide custom scenery objects. Here are some best case scenario's with a free scenery add-on:Corsicahttp://home.scarlet.be/~thdamman/xplane/im...creenshot_0.pnghttp://home.scarlet.be/~thdamman/xplane/im...creenshot_5.png

>I just don't want to touch the fricken config settings. With>a 2008 PC, I should be able to fly a 2006 game without issues.>FSX was horrible! The computer in your specs was released 06/30/2005. It is not a 2008 PC by any stretch of the imagination. The video card in your specs is incapable of running DirectX 10, thus I can assure you... you're not using DirectX 10.

Your hardware is too old for FSX. That's why you are getting massive blurries.
