MSFS2024 Touchscreen Monitor

Featured Replies

Just wondering if a touchscreen monitor can be used in MSFS 2024 to press the buttons and flip the switches in the cockpit of the plane.

Would be more realistic than using the mouse.

Not an expert but in my experience with touch screen systems is the need for a different overlay for different monitors and or screens/pages in program.  Did some work years ago deploying touchscreens on our shop floor CNC machines.  Can it be done?  Sure. It’s software, it can do anything.  Will it be easy, cheap or worthwhile?  That remains to be seen.  Good luck,

This may be interesting for an overhead.

The problem is it is still a second monitor so all of the issues with FG and secondary monitors still apply.

For the 737 and 777 you can use aviaserver and same as aviaCDU you can run aviaOverhead on a networked client, even a tablet...  https://www.aviaworx.com/aviaoverhead

Or you can go for a physical overhead 🙂

Until my winwing units get here you can actually see the tablet in front of my throttle quadrant running the Left and Right CDU's...  I also have another tablet behind both the throttle quadrant as well as my Comm, Nav and Transponder units for the Center CDU so 3 CDU's on 2 tablets but you could easily add an overhead.
There is someone here maybe @Rocky_53 who tried a touchscreen before moving to a physical overhead.  Rocky, was that you or am I making things up?

Hiya Paul, yup, that was me! I used the virtual overhead from Aviaworx with a (used, off Ebay) 32" touchscreen. It always felt too small TBH, but I didn't have it long before upgrading to the VRinsight V2 OH. I also used the Aviaworx CDU too, ran it on my Ipad, worked a treat. Again, I upgraded to the Cockpit Master CDU. Using Aviaworx items such a sthe CDU and OH, is a great and much cheape rlaternative for people. This is my current cockpit
