MSFS 2024 Questions

Featured Replies

After testing 2024 today, I'm seriously considering making it my primary sim. It has come a long way.

There's a couple things I need to finish.

1) My 787 is missing from the fleet. I received a prompt that I had updates to a few airports and the 787, but the airports & airplanes are not in the marketplace. They appear in content manager, but they are market unsupported by dev. How do I find these updates on the marketplace? There were a few in my account, but I'm missing some airplanes and airports that are part of my 2020 premium deluxe.

2) Does the Add-on linker allow you to choose which sim to start? I need to do some research on this one.

3) Lastly, even though performance is excellent, I will probably still need AutoFPS. How are you using it with 2024?

I will soon need to change my signature. 😀

Jose- I hope you don't mind if I jump in?

WHERE ARE THE AIRCRAFT CAMERA PRESETS STORED PLEASE?

In 2020 they were in C:\Users\XXXXX\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Fl ightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\SimObjects\ Airplanes

Thanks- and sorry for the piggyback!

The Linker archive (when extracted) has two executables - one for each. The Linker has just had (yet more) tweaks. Hard to imagine running MSFS without it.

Regardless of existing performance, AutoFPS is a "must" - allowing you to ramp up your default sliders even more. Difficult to explain how to use it, as it has so many varied options. It's best just done "on the fly" where you can see the differences in real time.

Anytime! Search for cameras'cfg in aircraft folders.

I changed my community folder to the same folder that I created for installation.

Flight Simulator 2024

That folder contains MSFS 2024, OneStore & Community Folder. I'm not in front of my computer, but there are a few folders in that folder.

Yo can change the community folder location easily.

I'll probably use Auto FPS the same way I did in 2020, locked at 30 fps, advanced mode (TLOD) 50 @ ground level to 400 @5K ft.

1) Look for all your planes in My Library in the Marketplace dialog. In spite of what it says you can click on it and select to activate it in the bottom right corner. I'm not at my computer so I may have the wording wrong.

The only ones you can't activate are the ones marked Unavailable, but there aren't many of these left.

You can then select the plane in the top left corner of the Free Flight dialog and fly it.
