May 2, 20251 yr Last week I purchased the X-Crafts EMP 195, but after watching a few videos on the PMS EMB 175 I really think I'll give that one a chance too: First look at the new FPS E175 for X-Plane12 on VatSim. |KCLT/KJFK| Any of you guys own both and could kindly comment on the pros / cons of each? Thx ! May 2, 20251 yr I have both X-carft family and FPS 190/195 Put it simply, 1. FPS have slightly better non-FMC systems, although non of them are able to handle failures so IMO it doesn't matter much, for normal flight both are OK. 2.FPS uses UFMC which is heavily based on 737, they tried their best to disguise it as a Ejets one, impressive, but still not perfect. On the other hand, x-Carft have FMS build from ground up, but lacks a tons of functionally, with 2.0.1 the main complain is no hold and offset, but what it have done is slightly better than FPS version, and they are working on those missing features. meanwhile unless FPS ditch the UFMC doesn't seems likely, their FMS probably wouldn't got any better. (but again, better buy product based on "as it is") 3. Both have issue with Autopilot but they both have improved a lot, currently FPS flies more stable, xCraft have very wobbly throttle and pitch (same as default A330/Citation as they said they are using the default system) 4. For flight dynamic/performance, Both are faking the FLEX... you can input one but have no effect on N1....I can't tell much difference for hand flight, FPS do have greendot speed which is very helpful, and FPS's autobrake is much more close to the landing distance provide by realworld manual, xCraft use the default pressure based autobrake so it doesn't match. 5.Both use ND range of 5,10,20,40,80,160. not even provide 320, xCraft says it's not useful for short flight... but the realworld Ejets use 2.5, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 200, 300 ,500 (as half range) For now, I can't say which one is definitely better than the other, and my main Ejets is..............Feelthere v3!

May 2, 20251 yr After I saw that FPS has ramped up the price to X-Craft's level for the 175, my interest cooled down immensely. Since both models seem to be at feature parity, I'd probably go for the developer that rolls out updates more frequently. May 3, 20251 yr Author I actually own the XCrafts, which I had purchased a week ago. Just used Skunkcrafts Updater and no update since then, which is acceptable. I confess I was disappointed with the functionality of some systems, the strange behaviour on takeoff / initial climb, some not modeled features.... Well, time will tell, but for the price I would expect a lot more 😕 Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
May 4, 20251 yr Just tried some local pattern hand flying with both in VR FPS need much higher force to control, maybe it's due to the default CG is 10%, while xC is 20+%.... but both of them doesn't provide a way to change the CG in their EFB? what? As for roll, FPS seems induce much greater yaw moment you can "feel" when at low speed(still above VAPP), thus makes turn at low speed sloppyer , but xC have much greater slip indicator movement while can't really "feel" , both are with Y/D on. Overall xC's hand flying is much closer to what LVUP736 provide as I also just tried that. Speaking of VR, non of the overhead knobs really works in FPS (the cue line suggest you need to move your hand for 3~5meters to get the knobs to move), and the default view is on dashboard, not on seat. xC provide better VR interaction, but it's EFB doesn't works with VR controller nor mouse under VR, while FPS's EFB can but only can use mouse under VR.
May 4, 20251 yr Author Yep, I believe both still leave a LOT to be desired, at least for me 😕 I regret having purchased the xCrafts Emb 195... It was too expensive for what it offers, and the level of implementation of some systems, not to mention the weird fell in manual flight. I'd rather have invested in the FF 777 if I knew what I was getting 😕 Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

BTW still not recommend FF777 unless you not plan to fly any non-normal, as it's ECL system is still very broken.

Me not for sure, but you don't need to be a systems programmer and know in deep the details of an operating system to be able to identify something's not ok with your desktop when a series of weird behaviours start to happen... I know it's being updated, and I count on that.
