May 7, 20251 yr Hello, here is my config: X570 Aorus Ultra Ryzen 7 5800X3D RTX 4070 12 Go 64 Go Ram Win10 MSFS 2024 SSD Samsung 990 Pro My question is quite simple. If current graphics card prices were reasonable, would it be better to upgrade from a 4070 to a 4080 super (second-hand) or to a 5070 ti, or would it be better to aim higher because the gain won't be enough? Thanks for answer Franck X570 Aorus Ultra - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Gigabyte RTX 4070 - 34 Go Ram DDR4

May 7, 20251 yr The two cards are very close, performance-wise...I remember seeing a comparison video running MSFS 2024, and they were within 1-2 fps of each other. The biggest upside is 16GB of VRAM on both. And with that CPU and a 2560x1440 display, you probably don't need more GPU. May 10, 20251 yr If if i were in your shoes the next step for me would be a socket AM5 platform upgrade (CPU/MB/Memory). While you do need to upgrade your GPU (due to VRAM for msfs2024) i would put that off for a little bit and do the platform first which would then give you a little time to see if the prices come down a touch for the GPU. If you do still decide to go with the GPU ... 5070Ti/9070XT would do for your resolution (single display 1440p) 4K or VR requires more GPU grunt. May 14, 20251 yr A few months ago I upgraded to the MSI 5070ti. My monitor is a MSI 49" and I run the resolution at 51XX x 1440. With my cpu a 7800x3d, 64 gigs ram, it works well. Sims I us are MSFS2020 & XP12 mainly. Very pleased with the entire set up.
