May 11, 20251 yr Hi all, Currently get around in the FSL A320, PMDG 747 & 777. I am considering the Aerosoft A330 - I realise it doesn't have any failures. Is it a good product for an A-B flight? Does it have things like step climbs, save/resume, takeoff/landing calc etc.? How do you like it? Cheers, Rudy
May 11, 20251 yr I see it's the P3D version. If you're aware this is not FSL, it's a fine bird, good enough for an A-to-B flight. I sometimes did step climbs, based only on the optimum cruise level indicated in the MCDU. I don't trust it's takeoff calculations, but fortunately there's Simbrief for that. For landing, I only calculate speeds. May 12, 20251 yr It sometimes go off course with NAV mode, so not a good over-night long hauler, FBW is quite laggy, and doing weird things as soon as you get a stutter, for example when I plug in my USB flashdisk in my PC, the P3D lag 0.5s, then it get like 20 degree bank with 10 degree nose down.... It was on the bottom line of "Tolerable" for me, but uninstalled as soon as I got Toliss330
May 12, 20251 yr Unfortunately Aerosoft didn't shine well with their A330 when it was released for P3D. It is still very buggy but you can fly from point A to B. The lateral tracking sometimes can be bit off. VNAV is also bit wonky in places. I have very little time in their A330 primarily because aerosoft never bothered to fix it and then abandoned it completely. Personally it is not worth 70 Euros. Edited May 12, 20251 yr by CAP1234
May 16, 20251 yr Author Thank-you for your ideas, chaps. I think I'll stay off it and continue on with the 777 for such flights. Toliss 330 does look good, but was keen for a classic. Beggars can't be choosers eh. Cheers, Rudy
