Drzewiecki Design Grass

Featured Replies

I installed the Drezewiecki grass to P3D V4 but want to know if it will work with P3D V5.4 and how to install it there.

The installer only goes to V4 of P3D but would like to use it in P3D V5.4 (if compatible).

  • Freeware!

  • Replaces default 128x128 textures with high resolution, seamless grass or snow textures (4096x4096pix)

  • Compatible with FS2004, FSX, FSX:SE, FSW and P3Dv1-v4

  • Automatically changes simulator texture resolution to 4096x4096

  • Adds HIGHMEMFIX=1

Drezewiecki grass runs well with P3v5.4.

Its operation is very simple:
Depending on the season you have chosen, it installs a [detail1.bmp] file with the same name as the default P3D path file.
path ...\P3DV5\Scenery\World\texture\

This file has the same name but, as you'd expect, is not the same size.
P3DV5.x default file = 11 kb
Drezewiecki file = 10923 kb Summer version

To install it in P3DV5.4 copy and paste the one installed in P3V4.
Of course, before doing so, make a backup of the default file.

Note:
HIGHMEMFIX=1 fixes a memory issue in FSX that can cause out of memory errors.
So especially necessary for FSX installation.
Maybe you can check in your P3Dv4/ Prepar3d.cfg file  if  HIGHMEMFIX=1 appears in [Graphics] section.
Personally, I didn't add it.

Not needed for 64-bit sims.

I looked and did not see the entry in both P3DV4.5 and 5.4 but I saw a difference in 4.5.

I can tell the difference in P3D V4.5 and 5.4

That looks like a really nice improvement for P3D airport grass.  Where can I find this texture?

Specs: MSI X470 Gaming Pro Carbon board, Ryzen 5800X CPU, 3600Mhz Corsair RAM, Sapphire Nitro+ RX 6900 XT GPU

Favorite Sims: FSX:SE, P3Dv5.4, X-Plane 11 & 12

That file comes with the Drzewiecki Design scenery (at least it does with the scenery for v5). I don't know where to get the file separately.

I provided a link in my OP as to where to obtain it.

BTW: I agree with others in this tread that it is NOT needed in P3D V5.4 - that detail1.bmp file is same size and original one

and grass looks the same with out it. So that is perhaps why it was not created for P3D V5 series.
