Aviation videos on Facebook - are they real?

Featured Replies

My Facebook feed has numerous videos of airliners taking off from extremely short runways (including aircraft carriers!) and difficult landings. Since most of these seem to be filmed from a chase plane following close behind or aside the aircraft, it seems unlikely in real life. I  am wondering if they are from a very realistic flightsim like MSFS2020 or MSFS2024? Any thoughts on this?

I wouldn't know I stopped logging into Fakebook years ago 🤣

It was fun around 2006 or 2008, now its the global cesspool, especially with AI makes it even worse

Many years ago when Meigs was still a thing in the flight sim, I used to practice landing and taking off at Meigs in the 747. Thoroughly unrealistic, but I did learn a lot about short field operations. 😄

As bad as these videos are, they teach a valuable lesson: you learn to recognize "that which is not true." An essential skill these days.
