Help on P3Dv5 scenery installation as a Addon Package

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have some scenery addons that install on the P3D root. The problem is that they have many files that will spread and flood in many default folders, including some files that will be replaced. I want to install it in a safe way. If the airport is not good or in a future uninstall the installation as a package is more easy and clean. So i would like to install them as a addon package on p3d addons folder.

If the scenery have these folders that should be on root:

Add scenery/XPTO_Airport/Scenery
Add scenery/XPTO_Airport/Texture
Effects/...
Scenery/...
Texture/....

What addon.xml file i should create to put all these in an folder in the P3Dv5 Addons Folder?

Thank You so much!!!

It's been a while since I've dealt with  P3Dv5.4 addons et al.  However, one essential item (imho) that you should consider using in this regard is Lorby's Addon Organizer.

Others, I'm sure, will come to your assistance shortly and give you a more precise answer.  In the meantime, please do check the Addon Organizer out. It's free, by the way.

My specs:  AMD Ryzen 5 5600X @ 3.7 GHz, 32 GB 3200MHz DDR4, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 12 GB, 2TB SAMSUNG EVO Plus SSD M2, 2TB WD Black Gaming SSD M2, 8TB WD Black Gaming HDD, 4TB WD Black Gaming Ext HDD, Windows 10, X-Plane 12 + large quantity of 3rd party addons scenery & aircraft. Honeycomb Alpha & Bravo, Thrustmaster TFRP. It's an older machine but gets the job done quite nicely - smooth with no stutters!

Thank You, yeah i already considered it, but i not want to mess the p3d installation. About installing these sceneries its ok for me, what i not want is to install them as they are by deffault procedure because they will mess and replace many default p3d files, its why i want to convert them as an Addon Package type of scenery that requires a addon.xml file correctly configurated.
