August 18, 2025Aug 18 Not many WWll vets left. By my calculations, the youngest American WWll vet would be about 96 yrs old, and that's if they lied about their age and enlisted at 16 years of age. RIP Flight Lieutenant John Cruickshank, RAF. My father was a Helldiver pilot in the Pacific during WWll. He later piloted the Super Constellation EC121 Warning Star out of Argentia, Newfoundland during the cold war, ~1957. He passed in 1982, he would be 110 yrs old if alive today.
