Custom Build PC

If you had to go with a Pre-Built gaming desktop computer, where would you shop? My "build" guy moved out of state, and I don't dare doing it myself!!

Where would you guys go? Any suggestions are appreciated!

Thanks,

Mike

If you can find a Microcenter, you can pick the parts and they can either help you build it or they can build it (for a fee).  If you don't have a MC nearby Newegg's ABS stuff is okay.  Lenovo Legion is pretty good but I feel like they're a bit on the higher end price wise.

I'm currently in the middle of another PC build and plan to go thru some of the nuances and important steps to consider.  I would highly recommend you try and build it yourself, it can be very rewarding.

As far as PC builders, I was in contact with Digit Storm but elected to not use them due to cooling issues with case they use.  But, they were honest and pre-sales support was good.

Recommend you avoid HP desktop computers.

If you live in Oregon (Portland area), I'd be available to help you out.

Thanks for the advise guys. I live in upstate NY. Near Lake George. I've never heard of Microcenter. I did check New Egg, What about Best Buy?

This looks interesting from New Egg...

Avoid like the plague.  BB is shifting focus due to financial difficulties.  They also have a security policy that can expose your personal data including address, last 4 digits of your CC, etc.

You might try Jetline.  I've bought from them in the past and there is another member of this forum that just bought one.  They specialize in Flight Sim.

Search Microcenter on Youtube and they have a video where they build a high-end gaming computer.

Yes, just get larger capacity M.2 nVME

Thanks  - I've added additional 2TB M.2 which should be sufficient for now.

why you haven't considered AMD CPUs

I never used AMD processors before and back then there were some rumours that AMD processors had some issues whereas intel was spot on. But that was long time ago - But now that you mention it I am hearing good things about AMD and in fact a friend of mine just upgraded their PC to AMD and they are getting better performace then intel so yeah I I'll consider it.

I've better results with all AMD processors, with AMD GPUs. I don't like to mix things up. That's why I'm looking at this system...
