August 28, 2025Aug 28 The story behind that video is about Bloomberg filing copyright violation against GN (Steve) … Steve was investigating the GPU black market where nVidia look the other way and circumvent tariffs and other regulatory restrictions (the real reason why so few 5090s made it to the US and Europe). Steve used some of Bloomberg’s data under public fair use act, but since Bloomberg’s primary revenue stream is from data mining and selling that data, they went after GN because GN doesn’t pay to subscribe to “Bloomberg Terminal”. It’s classic big corporation taking on the little guy that got too big or too close to exposing companies that are trading and/or indirectly participating in the black market of nVidia GPUs. I enjoy GN’s content, it’s one of the more accurate sources of information and GN is trying to help consumer rights (which we get less and less every day). I’ve donate to his legal battle with Bloomberg, but I fear it is one he will not win as “laws” seem to hold little or no meaning when it comes to people with very large sources of money to influence government, buy lawyers, and intimidate witnesses. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. - Carl Sagan
